John Denver, a singer-songwriter who hails from Colorado who was a specialist in folk music, inspired millions of people. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and moved to Aspen. Denver's anthems for his adopted state have drawn many to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver was by far one of the most well-known performers who embodies Colorado. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its the first member in 2011. To many, Denver is the symbol of Colorado. Certainly in my travels you come across someone on the opposite part of the globe, one who is from New Zealand and you say 'I'm originally from Colorado and the first thing that comes out of their mouths is Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time within small Folk Music groups. The track was written with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the track in the name of Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the potential of the single the moment he heard it for the first time. He recorded it within a couple of days of performing on stage in Washington D.C. before an large crowd who were very appreciative.
